Publish, duplicate & import a classroom
Share a classroom as a template — publish to galleries, duplicate your own, or import a copy with a share code.
Last updated Sep 6, 2026
Teachers can reuse a classroom setup without copying the roster. Publish puts
a template in a gallery, Duplicate copies a classroom you already manage, and
Import (share code or gallery) gives you an independent copy.
Your students are never shared. Importers always get their own copy of linked
tutors, assignments, and apps (tools are re-linked; the roster is not).
Three galleries
The Classroom directory has three tabs (same idea as Apps):
| Tab | What you see |
|---|---|
| My classrooms | Classrooms you belong to |
| School | Templates published to your school gallery |
| Public | Community templates (after review) |
On School and Public, click Import on a card to copy that classroom
into My classrooms.
Join vs import (one box)
Teachers use Join/Import on the directory. Students still see Join.
Paste an 8-character code in the same field:
| Code | What it does |
|---|---|
| Join code | Adds you to that classroom's roster (students) |
| Import (share) code | Copies the classroom into your account — no roster |
The backend decides which kind of code you entered. After a successful import,
the copy appears under My classrooms.
Share code for other teachers
On the classroom Dashboard, generate an Import code and share it with
colleagues. They paste it in Join/Import to copy the classroom (linked
tutors, assignments, and apps are cloned; tools are re-linked; the roster is not).
Regenerate the code if you need to rotate it.
Duplicate a classroom you manage
From a classroom you can manage, open More → Duplicate.
- Enter a new classroom name.
- Choose what to include: Tutors, Assignments, Apps, Tools.
- Optionally copy co-teachers and copy students.
- For linked tutors and assignments, pick:
- Share same copies — both classrooms point at the same tutor or assignment.
- Full clone — independent copies (recommended when you want a fresh class).
- When you full-clone tutors, you can also copy offline live class plans.
- Under Advanced, set share or clone per tutor and assignment.
- Click Duplicate classroom.
Share is only available when you own every included tutor and assignment.
Co-editors, or anyone missing owner access, can full-clone only. Linked items
you cannot manage are skipped.
Publish to a gallery
From More → Publish:
- School gallery — visible to teachers in your school.
- Public gallery — visible to everyone after review.
You can publish to school, submit for public approval, or do both. Importers get
their own copy of the classroom, including copies of its tutors, assignments,
and apps.
Unpublish from school or public anytime.
School admins control whether school-gallery publishes go live immediately — see
School management overview.
